Eligibility Criteria for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship

• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of an African Union or African Commonwealth country.

• Age Limits:

  • Undergraduate: 18-25 years as of 01 January 2026.

  • MPhil/PhD: Under 40 years as of 01 January 2026.

• Academic Requirements:

  • PhD: A first-class undergraduate degree or MPhil, meeting awarding body criteria.

  • MPhil/PhD: An upper second-class undergraduate degree (or GPA > 60%), preferably with a master’s degree.

  • Diploma Program: Five credits at S.C., G.C.E ‘O’ Level, or IGCSE, including English or equivalent.

  • Undergraduate Degree: Minimum of 21 points at GCE or HSC A-Level, 60% average, or equivalent.

• Program Application: Must have applied for a full-time on-campus Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD program at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the 2024 academic year.

• Evidence of English or French proficiency

• National Endorsement Form

• Proof of application for a full-time program at a public HEI in Mauritius

• Signed medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner

• Supporting statement from a named supervisor (for PhD applicants)

• Additional documents as specified by the Nominating Agency
