The 2025 Innovation and Technology Scholarship at Arizona State University, USA

The Mastercard Foundation, in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU), is set to empower 120 young African professionals over the next five years (2025–2030) through its prestigious graduate scholarship program. This exciting initiative provides a fully immersive, on-campus master’s experience, spanning two years, with a focus on innovation and technology. As the digital economy transforms globally, this program is tailored to equip African students with the skills needed to become leaders in fields such as technology and sustainable innovation.

For the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year, 30 fully funded scholarships are up for grabs. These scholarships cover not only tuition fees but also accommodation and other essential expenses throughout the program. Beyond financial support, Scholars will engage in a range of enriching activities under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, including leadership training, personal mentorship, and special events. During their studies, Scholars can take up part-time roles on campus, either within the Baobab Platform team or the wider ASU community.

To ensure that this learning experience extends beyond the classroom, Mastercard Foundation Scholars will embark on a two-month internship in Africa between their first and second year. This Africa-based internship aligns with their field of study, further reinforcing their professional growth and connection to the continent.

However, this program is more than just academic success. A key expectation of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is that graduates return home and apply their knowledge to fuel social and economic development in their communities. The program strongly encourages applications from women, refugees, displaced persons, and individuals with disabilities. Arizona State University, committed to creating accessible learning environments, ensures that its programs and services are inclusive for all.
