Eligibility Criteria for the University of Tokyo MEXT Scholarship

• Must have an excellent academic record.
• Applicants must be from eligible countries.
• Applicants must be born after April 2, 1990.
• Graduate School of Science nominates applicants to the University of Tokyo.
• Graduated students need a GPA of 2.30 or higher.
• Current students must have a GPA of 2.30 or higher in recent courses.

• English or Japanese proficiency is required.
• Must enter Japan with a “Student” visa.
• Must be physically and mentally fit.
