Eligibility Criteria for the Generative AI Accelerator Program

Before applying, ensure your project meets these key criteria:

    • The proposed solution must be grounded in research, data, or a proven track record.
    • Your project should include a realistic execution plan, access to required data, models, and expertise, and necessary resources, including funding or partnerships.
  2. Impactful Use of Generative AI
    • Generative AI must be integral to the project and applied innovatively to address a critical issue.
    • The proposal should outline measurable positive outcomes for end beneficiaries in a priority topic area.
  3. Scalability
    • The solution should have the potential to scale across borders and benefit broader sectors.

    • Applicants must commit to fully engaging in the 6-month accelerator, including building a technical prototype with Google.org’s support.

Selected organisations will gain access to:

  • Funding: Awards ranging from $500,000 to over $2 million, with a share of $30 million allocated across selected projects.
  • Structured Support: Six months of hands-on assistance, including pro bono expertise from Google employees.
  • Technical Training: Access to Google Cloud credits and training in AI tools like Vertex AI and Gemini.
  • Showcase Opportunity: Participation in a Demo Day to present prototypes to key stakeholders.

Expectations for Participants

To make the most of the program, selected organisations are expected to:

  • Commit approximately 4 hours per week from an Executive Director or Decision Maker and a Technical Project Lead.
  • Use the funding over 30 months to support prototype development, launch, and scaling.
  • Develop a working prototype during the accelerator and prepare for product deployment post-program.
