The #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund for Creators and Artists
YouTube created the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund to help amplify fresh narratives and content that emphasises the intellectual power, passion and joy of this brilliant community, including Black economic equity and wellbeing.
YouTube is a platform that celebrates a broad and diverse set of voices that make YouTube, YouTube. Promoting the diversity of our Creator and Artist community is crucial to making sure that YouTube is inclusive and equitable.
Over the next three years, the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund will be used to acquire and produce YouTube Originals programming focused on the Black experience, and to directly support Black Creators and Artists so that they can thrive on YouTube.
How to Apply for the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund
You may choose to submit your application information below, including racial identity information, to be considered for grants and other programmes related to the Fund and to be contacted about these programmes. Your participation is voluntary.
If you choose to provide your information, it will be used by Google LLC, the corporation that operates the YouTube platform, to determine your eligibility for a grant, review applications, and, if you are selected, to administer grants from the Fund.
You may also choose to allow us to contact you about programmes and grants related to the Fund, and to publicise your participation in the Fund through related programmes, events, promotions and campaigns. However, you do not need to do so in order to be considered for a grant.
If you choose to provide application data, it will be controlled by Google LLC and subject to the Google Privacy Policy. However, your data application data will be used solely for the purposes to which you agree, below.
We will keep the application information that you provide for no longer than three months from the date of collection, unless you are awarded funding or choose to hear more about various programmes, events, campaigns and promotions related to the Fund, in which case data will be retained for as long as necessary to your participation. You may contact us at youtubeblackvoicesfund@google.com at any time to withdraw your consent, or to access, change or delete your information. You can also contact Google’s data protection officer via this page.
The application window will open starting 7 October 2020 and will close on 21 October 2020 at 5.00 p.m. PST. To be considered, we encourage you to complete your submission as soon as possible.
