What Does the 2025 World Bank Internship Program Offer?
Interns receive a competitive hourly salary and, where applicable, a travel allowance of up to USD 3,000 to cover transportation costs (e.g., airfare) to and from the duty station city. Please note that interns are responsible for their accommodation arrangements.
Most internship positions are based in Washington, D.C., but there are opportunities in World Bank country offices, including those in Africa, depending on project needs.

Eligibility Criteria for the 2025 World Bank Internship Program
To qualify for the World Bank Internship Program, applicants must:
- Hold an undergraduate degree.
- Be enrolled in a full-time graduate study programme.
- Be fluent in English.
Proficiency in additional languages, such as French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, or Chinese, is an added advantage. Strong technical and computing skills are also beneficial. The World Bank actively seeks candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including Nigerians, to ensure a wide array of talents.
Application Process
Applications for the 2025 World Bank Internship Program will open from 15 January 2025 to 12 February 2025. During this period, you can access the application portal and submit your documents.
Required application materials include:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Statement of Interest
- Proof of Enrolment in a graduate programme
Once submitted, applications cannot be updated or modified. Applicants will receive a confirmation email with their application number.
Notification and Selection Timeline
Successful candidates will be notified by the end of March 2025 if they have been shortlisted for an interview. Final selections will be made in April 2025, and the internship programme will commence in early May 2025, running through May to August 2025.
